Founded in 1991 by Artistic Director Joan Kall Stewart, Sawnee Ballet Theatre provides cultural awareness and education to the community. Our purpose is to provide young people extensive dance experience and the opportunity to perform in a professional setting. Our annual performances of The Nutcracker and our Spring Concert make it possible for school children and the community to enjoy full-length ballet performances right here in Forsyth County.

Renowned artists have graced the stage with SBT, including artists from:
♦ Russia’s famed Kirov Ballet - Elena Martinson and Andrei Ustinov
♦ Milwaukee Ballet’s Prima Ballerina - Ann Finch
  ♦ Chicago Ballet’s - Victor Barauskas

Our Reputation for high standards of excellence has made us “Forsyth County’s Premier Ballet Company”.
