Open Nutcracker Auditions

Sawnee Ballet Theatre is holding open auditions for its 27th annual production of the Nutcracker at Sawnee School of Ballet. Casting for roles such party children, party adults, mice, soldiers, fairies, angels, dragonettes, lambs, and more!

All dancers age 2nd grade and up with at least one year of dance experience are welcome to audition. Boys no dance experience necessary. Acting experience a plus for all auditioning.

10:00am-11:00am: 2nd-4th grade girls
11:00am-11:45am: Boys audition (ages 7-18)
12:00pm-1:00pm: 5th-7th grade girls
1:00pm-2:00pm: 8th-12th grade girls

$15 Audition Fee/Cast Fees $35 paid on 8/25/2018

Cast dancers rehearse Friday evenings or Saturday mornings/early afternoons starting early October.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to audition time to:
check in, receive audition number, be measured, and have headshot taken.


Audition Dress Code:

Girls:
Solid colored leotard (if an SSB student, please wear assigned class color),
pink tights & ballet shoes with hair pulled back in neat bun, NO jewelry

Boys:
White t-shirt, black tights or shorts, white socks, & ballet shoes

Founded in 1991, Sawnee Ballet Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit performing company founded by Joan Kall Stewart located in Cumming. Led by Artistic Director, Courtney Bromwich, Sawnee Ballet Theatre presents three full-length productions each year: Entrelacé, The Nutcracker, and Spring Concert. The company focuses on classical and contemporary ballet and seeks to provide high quality theater engaging the audience's mind and spirit with their wildly popular holiday classic as well as with timeless productions such as Swan Lake, La Bayadere, and Peter and the Wolf. Since its inception, SBT as made significant contributions to the arts community through instruction and performance. Together with Sawnee School of Ballet, Sawnee Ballet Theatre strives to inspire young adults with excellence in arts education and provides the preparatory training environment to enable dancers to pursue professional careers in dance.
