Whether you're an aspiring pre-professional dancer or a young performer looking to experience the magic of the stage, Sawnee Ballet Theatre offers audition opportunities to join our performing family.

Company Auditions

Sawnee Ballet Theatre holds open auditions each spring for dancers interested in joining our pre-professional company. Auditions are conducted at Sawnee School of the Arts, and acceptance is based on a dancer’s technique, strength, placement, artistry, and overall maturity.

Company dancers train year-round and perform in both The Nutcracker and our Spring Concert, with additional opportunities for repertory work, community performances, and mentorship. SBT company membership provides a professional-level experience in a supportive and disciplined environment.

Auditions for the 2025–2026 season have concluded, and results have been announced.

Auditions for the 2026–2027 season will be held on May 9, 2026. Check back for more information.

Community Cast Opportunities

In addition to our company dancers, SBT welcomes members of the broader dance community to audition for select roles in The Nutcracker and the Spring Concert. These roles are ideal for dancers who may not be ready for full company participation but want to be part of a professional production.

  • The Nutcracker - Community Cast Auditions

    Held in late summer or early fall, community auditions for The Nutcracker offer roles for young dancers, party scene children, mice, soldiers, and more. It's a wonderful way for younger students to take their first steps onto the stage in a beloved holiday classic.
