Meet Our Dancers

Emily Frederickson

Emily is a freshman at Alliance Academy for Innovation and is in the International Business pathway. She is entering her 10th year of dance, and this is her second year as an SBT Company dancer. While she enjoys all styles of dance, she especially connects with ballet and musical theatre. Her favorite part of SBT is the opportunity to learn diverse choreography from extraordinary guest artists and teachers. One of her most memorable experiences was her first July Choreography Intensive, where she bonded with fellow dancers and began working on Nutcracker pieces.

Outside of dance, Emily coaches six-and-under swimmers for the Lake Forest Lightning swim team. She and her family run a nonprofit organization, Hope for the Homeless, which provides backpacks filled with essential supplies to those in need. She also enjoys traveling—having visited five countries—and holds dual citizenship in Australia and the United States. In the future, Emily plans to attend the University of Georgia and become an adoption lawyer.

She would like to thank her aunt, Deborah Searle, for inspiring her to work hard and never let others discourage her, and she’s grateful to her family and friends for their constant support throughout her journey.
