Meet Our Dancers

Emily Frederickson

Emily Frederickson is a sophomore at Alliance Academy of Innovation and is enrolled in both the International Business Pathway and the Future Educators Program. She has been dancing for 11 years, 10 of those with Sawnee School of the Arts, and this is her third year as an SBT Company dancer. While she has enjoyed training in many diverse styles with amazing teachers, her favorite styles include Musical Theatre, Commercial Jazz, and Ballet, where she feels she can fully express both technique and performance quality.

Emily’s most treasured SBT memory is competing in a modern group piece called “The Judgment.” During the process, she connected closely with fellow dancers and supported their growth, and performing it as a group brought strong encouragement and pride within the company.

Emily cherishes every moment she gets to spend in the SBT family. Her favorite part is learning and growing alongside her fellow dancers, as well as learning from younger dancers. She loves building connections in the studio and being part of each other’s dance journeys.

Outside of dance, Emily enjoys reading, traveling, and teaching. She is a dual citizen of the United States and Australia and works with CFUMC’s Children’s Ministry, where she helps children learn and grow in different ways. After high school, she hopes to attend college with a focus in Education and Dance, either as a double major or major/minor. She aspires to become a middle grades educator, but is also interested in the possibility of dancing at Disney World.

She would like to thank her parents for their unwavering support and commitment, as well as her aunt, Deborah Searle, for introducing her to the world of dance.

“Differences are not disabilities. They are just different ways of seeing the world.” – Rick Riordan
