Meet Our Dancers

Evie Shrout

Evie is an 11th grader at East Forsyth High School and has been dancing for 12 years. This is her fourth year as an SBT Company dancer. Her favorite style of dance is contemporary ballet, and one of her most treasured dance memories is making company for the first time. Evie’s favorite thing about SBT is working together as a team to create beautiful and professional performances on stage. She has also expanded her training by attending summer intensives at Brenau University in Gainesville and the Joffrey Ballet School in Miami.

Outside of dance, Evie is involved in BETA Club and theater tech at school. She enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and listening to music. Her favorite color is green, and she has a pet snake named Salazar Slytherin. After high school, Evie plans to attend Brenau University to double major in biology and dance. She hopes to become a physical therapist for a ballet company one day.

Evie would like to thank her parents and grandmother for supporting her love of dance, and Miss Joanie for founding Sawnee School of Ballet and Sawnee Ballet Theatre, and for being her first ballet teacher.

“Be strong, be fearless, be beautiful. And believe that anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you.” — Misty Copeland
