Sophie Nelson

Sophie Nelson is a junior at Rivers Academy. She has been dancing for 10 years, and this is her fifth year as an SBT Company dancer. Her favorite style of dance is lyrical, and she especially enjoys creating fun turning combinations that challenge her technique and artistry.

Sophie is the youngest of three children and enjoys spending time with her siblings, going on coffee runs, and watching Gilmore Girls. She also loves her SBT dance family and enjoys chatting with “D Dog” at the front desk before and after class. She is grateful for the strong training she receives at Sawnee School of the Arts and appreciates the variety of classes offered.

Outside of dance, Sophie enjoys reading, baking, listening to music, and spending time with friends. Her favorite color is a toss-up between pink and green, and a fun fact about her is that she’ll eat anything with Tajín on it. After high school, she hopes to attend the University of Alabama and join their dance team.

She would like to thank Miss Courtney for her dedication to building an amazing Company, her friends for encouraging her to make good choices and grow in her faith, and her mom and dad for their constant support.
